Bluebell

This short caudiciform grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The fan-like stem is caramel and lime green, and is covered in dozens of fine, white, hair-like spines. It has a straight, narrow, green trunk atop a slender mess of wrinkled, exposed roots. The branches are narrow and yellow and trail down to the ground.

The irregular-edged, very thick leaves are generally sky blue. They are light, but do not detach easily.

It is slow growing, taking 18 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with grey petals and a violet central disk, grow at the top, reappearing after 4 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with many raised round-tipped petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like new carpet.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the slate flesh is waxy, and the silver sap is thin.
