Burgundy Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In heathlands.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps, and is very resilient; it can easily endure flooding and draughts.
When mature, emerald circular capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release hundred of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.
