Blueberry Bush

Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for around 47 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous slender, angular stems covered in waxy, dark brown bark, and the wood inside is dark brown.

The branches are short stubs with thousands of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of giant, broad, flat, leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are found in sky blue and aquamarine varieties, resistant and leathery.

In early summer it produces large amounts of tiny, bright yellow blossoms with 5 oblong shaped petals. They are very delicate and have the faintest scent that smells like cheap aftershave.

In late autumn very large circular fruits ripen. The rough indigo skin is thick and inedible, and the very soft light purple flesh is salty and sticky. The bronze seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
