Caramelfern

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 181 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has dozens of very thick, wavy stems covered in very thick, wrinkled, brown-green speckled bark, and the wood inside is pale yellow.

The branches trail down to the ground that and are covered with very large amounts of large, very thick, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are solid slate with caramel dots, flimsy and soft.

It produces large amounts of small, blood red flowers with fan-like petals. They detach easily and have an intensely strong scent that smells like glue. In late autumn it forms smallgold, tough-shelled seeds.
