Bluefruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 20 feet (6.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 30 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, curved trunk covered in silky, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the very dense wood is gray.

The abundance of branches are very long and slender and are covered with large amounts of small, thin leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are green with yellow tips.

In early spring, it produces dozens of giant, orange blossoms with wide petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a powerful scent that smells like honeysuckle.

In early autumn it produces tiny, circular fruit. The soft sky blue skin is thick and bitter, and the very soft blood red flesh is sweet and powdery. The yellow seed is tiny and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It releases hallucinogenic smoke when burned.

It is very rare outside of a particular area.
