Copper Fruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This big fruit tree grows up to 34 feet (10.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 34 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a branched, wonky trunk covered in ridged, dark green bark, and inside, the light wood is pale brown.

The small handful of branches are very long and thick and are covered with sparse amounts of giant, 7 pointed leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are copper and beige.

In early spring, it produces a handful of small, beige blossoms with spear shaped petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have no scent.

In early autumn it produces small, circular fruit. The crispy caramel skin is tough and inedible, and the slightly crunchy violet flesh is salty and syrupy. The brilliant yellow seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
