Copper Heath Moss

This copper moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps In heathlands.
It is short, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps and they spread and grow quickly, and is very flimsy; it takes a lot of damage when trodden on.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release hundred of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.
