Crimson Succulent

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This big cactus grows up to 78 feet (23.8 meters) tall. The spear shaped stem is gray or gold, and is covered in handfuls of flexible crimson spines.

It is fast growing, taking 3 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are bronze at the sides and crimson at the center, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is largely flat with many raised narrow petals. It has a fairly strong scent that smells like roses.

The cactus's skin is thin, the magenta flesh is soft, and the muted purple sap is thin and causes vomiting if consumed.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
The sap is edible and overwhelmingly spicy.
