Copperleaf

Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 14 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has several slender, twisting stems covered in very thick, cracked, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is yellow-brown.

The branches are very short, thin and wispy with dozens of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of giant, thick, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either washed-out blue or red, with gentle yellow edges, flimsy and leathery.

It produces handfuls of giant, dark brown flowers with sickle shaped petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like citrus. In late spring it forms smallyellow berries.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
