Burgundy Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In moorlands, and In rainy mountain ranges.
It is small, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they are exceptionally hardy, and is extremely tough.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release hundred of spores.
