Caramel

This short leaf succulent grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall. The thick stem is copper, and is covered in sharp spines. The rounded leaves are found in amber, caramel and indigo varieties. Large amounts of them grow on thick, gnarled, orange branches that trail down to the ground. The leaves are flimsy, but do not detach easily.

It is very slow growing, taking 29 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with solid pastel green petals and a hazel central disk, grow at the top, reappearing after 8 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of 28 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cube. It has a mildly strong scent that smells like marzipan.

The leaf succulent's skin is extremely thick, the bronze flesh is smooth, and the blue sap is thin.
