Copper

This small caudiciform grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. The very thin stem is copper, and is covered in brittle red spines. It has a twisting, thin, yellow trunk atop a flat stilted platform of cracked, exposed roots. The branches are thick and red and are very long and thick.

The smooth-edged, perforated leaves are hazel on the edges and intense orange at the center. They are strong, and easily come away when pulled.

It is steady-growing, taking 3 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with each petal a slightly different shade of red grows at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is largely flat with dozens of widely spaced round-tipped petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like fermented fruit.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the intense orange flesh is soft, and the silver sap is thin and can kill if consumed.
