Crimson Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found growing in tiny clumps In moorlands, In bogs, and On rotten logs.
It is average-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches, and is very sturdy.
When mature, emerald heart-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release thousands of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.

Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
The bark, wood and leaves are edible.
