Amber

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This short caudiciform grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall. The needle-like stem is orange-yellow, and is covered in handfuls of flexible green spines. It has a crooked, thin, vibrant yellow trunk atop a flat clump of silky, exposed roots. The branches are slender and pink-red and are short, rigid and upright.

The serrated-edged, finger-like leaves are turquoise and amber. They are resilient, and are very difficult to pull away.

It is steady-growing, taking 2 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are gentle purple on the underside and gold on the top grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of dozens of petals in raised layers. It has an intense scent that smells like skunk spray.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the blood red flesh is leathery, and the slate sap is thin.

It is suitable for making strong rope
It makes excellent hedges.
It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
