Thornspire
Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This short caudiciform grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall. The perforated stem is lime or lime, and is covered in brittle gentle green spines. The thick, crimson trunk can grow to as much as 9 feet (2.7 meters) in diameter. Its gray branches trail down towards the ground.
The tattered-edged, needle-like leaves are a shade of olive and gray that gradient shifts to orange at the top. They are resistant, but detach easily.
It is steady-growing, taking 3 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are bronze on the edges and olive at the center grows at the top, reappearing once every 3 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 30 petals. It has a mildly strong scent that smells like lavender.
The caudiciform's skin is nearly impenetrable, the black flesh is sticky, and the slate sap is thin.
It is suitable for making strong rope
The stems are covered in large spikes.
