Copperbell

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for around 22 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous stocky, crooked stems covered in cracked, dark green bark, and the wood inside is mahogany-coloured.

The branches trail down towards the ground that and are covered with copious amounts of miniature, broad, flat, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid cream or dark brown, with yellow patches, robust and smooth.

It produces many large, copper flowers with many layers of petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a mildly strong scent that smells like rotten eggs. In midwinter it forms tinycrimson seed pods.
