Copperbell

This small caudiciform grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The perforated stem is moss green, and is covered in sharp spines. It has a slanted, thick, hazel trunk atop a very thick ball of wrinkled, exposed roots. The branches are very thick and moss green and are short, rigid and upright.

The toothed-edged, spear shaped leaves are green at the bottom and copper with cream lines at the top. They are frail, but do not detach easily.

It is fast growing, taking 8 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with sky blue petals that gradient shift to peach on the outer edge. The central disk is gentle purple grow at the top, reappearing once every 10 years. The flower head is shaped like a cup with 46 widely spaced, round-tipped petals. It has a faint scent that smells like roses.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the yellow flesh is slimy, and the gentle purple sap is thin.
