Yellow Star Cactus

This massive cactus grows up to 136 feet (41.5 meters) tall. The finger-like stem is yellow, and is covered in large amounts of flexible olive spines.

It is quick growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are green in the center, lime in the middle and turquoise at the edges, grow at the top, reappearing after 10 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a star with 40 raised, round-tipped petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like new carpet.

The cactus's skin is thick, the muted purple flesh is rough, and the gentle yellow sap is thin.
