Golden Needle Tree
Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its stem)This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for over 2,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 2862 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.
It has a thick, straight trunk covered in thick, wrinkled, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the hard wood is white.
The tangled mess of branches are very short and thin, with dozens of twigs covered with thick bunches of small, orange-yellow needles. The needles themselves are delicate.
In late summer it produces large, yellow, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.
