Crimson Moss

This dark brown or crimson moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In bogs, In marshes, and In rainforests.
It is small, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they spread and grow quickly, and is very frail.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release dozens of spores.
