Copperstem Bluebell
Flower type: Annual (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This big flower grows up to 4.5 feet (1.4 meters) tall. Its copper stem is thin and splits into numerous branching stems halfway up, and the giant, lime and grey leaves are asymmetrical with smooth edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.
A single small flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 74 cm (29.1 inches) wide, with petals that are silver on the edges and deep blue at the center. The flower head is made up of dozens of petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cup. They are very delicate.
It has an overpowering scent that smells like onion, and it has very little pollen. It is a self-pollinator.
It is suitable for making paper
The sap is edible and overwhelmingly sour.
A particular bird species likes to nest in it.
