Copper

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This small fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 45 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 72 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, straight trunk covered in knobbly, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the dense wood is burgundy-brown.

The branches trail down to the ground and are covered with very large amounts of miniature, long, tapering leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are solid sky blue with brown streaks.

In early spring, it produces several small, lime blossoms with wide petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like sweat.

In early winter it produces , finger-like fruit. The clammy sky blue skin is thin and savoury, and the soft white flesh is very savoury and syrupy. The olive seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
