Burgundy Moss

Moss type: Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In heathlands, In bogs, and In rainy mountain ranges.
It is huge, growing up to 1.0 foot (30 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is slightly delicate; it struggles more than most during dry spells.
When mature, emerald kidney-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release dozens of spores.

A particular bird species likes to nest in it.
The bark is frequently covered in moss.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
