This lime moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In rainy mountain ranges, and On trees.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches, and is very rigid.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release thousands of spores.
