Crimson Succulent

This short leaf succulent grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall. The very narrow, elongated stem is red, and is covered in brittle black spines. The knobbly leaves are solid brown or crimson, with cyan dots. Very large amounts of them grow on flat, silver branches that are very short and thin. The leaves are durable, but do not detach easily.

It is quick growing, taking 5 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with alternating petals of purple and red, with a gold central disk grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 20 curved petals. It has a mildly strong scent that smells like cherry.

The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the black flesh is rubbery, and the muted purple sap is thin.
