Azurefruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This large fruit tree grows up to 34 feet (10.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 31 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a thick, angular trunk covered in wrinkled, black bark, and inside, the dense wood is white with black speckles.

The branches are short and thin and are covered with thick bunches of large, very thick leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are yellow on the sides and azure at the center.

In early spring, it produces bunches of giant, cyan blossoms with 9 triangular shaped petals. They fall easily and have a weak scent that smells like roses.

In mid-autumn it produces small, oblong fruit. The clammy subtle blue skin is peel-able and inedible, and the slightly crunchy yellow flesh is sour and very dry. The red seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
