Amber Thorny Tripod
Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 63 feet (19.2 meters) tall. The needle-like stem is emerald and silver, and is dotted with small brown spines. It has a slanted, wide, bronze trunk atop a slender tripod of wrinkled, exposed roots. The branches are very thick and orange-yellow and are short and thick.
The jagged-edged, finger-like leaves are crimson on the sides and hazel at the center. They are resilient, but take little effort to detach.
It is steady-growing, taking 3 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are purple on the underside and dark brown on the top, grow at the top, reappearing once every 9 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 52 petals. It has a powerful scent that smells like cheese.
The caudiciform's skin is extremely thick, the amber flesh is smooth, and the grey sap is thin.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
