Copperberry

This short fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 33 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a slender, crooked trunk covered in very thick, silky, burgundy bark, and inside, the dense wood is brown.

The excessive amount of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with large amounts of small, finger-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are gray with copper tips.

In early spring, it produces lots of tiny, azure blossoms with fan-like petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like cheese.

In mid-autumn it produces , pleated fruit. The rough sky blue skin is thin and sweet, and the crunchy beige flesh is sour and very juicy. The black seed is large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.
