Crimson Succulent

This small leaf succulent grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall. The sickle shaped stem is crimson, and is covered in dozens of rigid orange spines. The smooth-edged, fan-like leaves are caramel and yellow. Sparse amounts of them grow from the base like blades of grass. The leaves are light, and take some effort to detach.

It is very slow growing, taking 33 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with blue petals and a crimson central disk, grow at the top, reappearing after 6 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a cube made up of handfuls of tightly layered, narrow petals. It has a weak scent that smells like vomit.

The leaf succulent's skin is very thick, the sky blue flesh is sticky, and the caramel sap is thin and causes vomiting if consumed.
