Skyflower
Flower type: Biennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This modest-sized flower grows up to 1.0 foot (30 cm) tall. Its yellow stem is thin and splits into 7 branching stems at the base, and the giant, sky blue leaves are very thick with tattered edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.
Each stem splits 6 to 11 times; a single large flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 7 cm (2.8 inches) wide, with alternating petals of beige and sky blue, with a red central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 30 curved petals. They are hardy.
It has a powerful scent that smells like roses, and it has a modest amount of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator.
