Bloodfern

This blood red moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas In marshes.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is slightly flexible; it can easily endure being trodden on.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release millions of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.
