Bloodbloom

Shrub type: Deciduous (Sheds its leaves in winter)

This average-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for around 35 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has several flexible, slanted stems covered in very thick, ridged, dark gray bark, and the wood inside is white.

The branches are short, rigid and upright that and are covered with handfuls of small, long, narrow, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are found in washed-out orange and hazel varieties, flimsy and smooth.

In mid-summer it produces thousands of giant, white blossoms with flame-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have a powerful scent that smells like blood.

In early winter large pleated fruits ripen. The smooth cream skin is delicate and inedible, and the very soft sky blue flesh is sweet and very dry. The grey seeds are small and are bunched at the top of the fruit.

It is suitable for use as a construction material
Several parts of the shrub have medicinal properties.
It comes in 40 varieties.
