Bronzeberry

This big fruit tree grows up to 44 feet (13.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 63 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a very thick, wonky trunk covered in thin, waxy, light brown bark, and inside, the very dense wood is pale yellow.

The branches are long and thick and are covered with copious amounts of miniature, thick leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are green with aquamarine tips.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of giant, bronze blossoms with heart-shaped petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like mint.

In early summer it produces tiny, hexagonal-shaped fruit. The rough black skin is stretchy and spicy, and the soft orange flesh is bitter and savoury and very juicy. The crimson seed is very large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.
