Copper Sickle Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This large cactus grows up to 94 feet (28.7 meters) tall. The sickle shaped stem is copper, and is covered in brittle cream spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 17 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with dark brown petals and a yellow center grow at the top, reappearing once every 10 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 24 petals. It has a mildly strong scent that smells like onion.

The cactus's skin is thin, the crimson flesh is waxy, and the dark grey sap is thin.

The bark, wood and leaves are edible.
