Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In rainy mountain ranges, and In bogs.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is very hardy.
When mature, emerald V-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release millions of spores.
