Copper Moss

This copper moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In bogs, and In damp forests.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is extremely frail.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release dozens of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
