Crimson Caudiciform

This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 47 feet (14.3 meters) tall. The sickle shaped stem is moss green, and is covered in hundreds of rigid pale green spines. The thick, red trunk can grow to as much as 47 feet (14.3 meters) in diameter. Its dark grey branches are very long, thin and wispy.

The wavy-edged, crescent-shaped leaves are blue and green. They are delicate, and are very difficult to pull away.

It is slow growing, taking 5 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with solid cyan petals and an indigo central disk grows at the top, reappearing once every 10 years. The flower head is shaped like a bowl with 48 widely spaced, narrow petals. It has a strong scent that smells like misty mornings.

The caudiciform's skin is rock-hard, the lime flesh is smooth, and the crimson sap is thin and can cause blindness if consumed.
