Indigo Bloom

Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in its leaves)

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.2 feet (36 cm) tall. Its pink-red stem is thick and splits into 4 branching stems halfway up, and the miniature, violet leaves are heart-shaped with ripped edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from the base up to about halfway.

Two medium-sized flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 15 cm (5.9 inches) wide, with petals that are turquoise on the underside and indigo on the top. The flower head is made up of dozens of petals in raised layers. They are very delicate.

It has an intense scent that smells like cheap aftershave, and it has an average amount of pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird.
