Violet Tree

This short tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 297 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, curved trunk covered in very thick, rough, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the very light wood is pale brown.

The sparse patches of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with handfuls of rough, small, fan-like leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are muted green and violet.

In early spring, it produces several medium-sized, intense purple blossoms with flame-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have a mildly strong scent that smells like sugar.

In late summer it forms tiny, grey, shelled seeds.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.
