Crimsonvine

This small tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 683 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in delicate, smooth, gray bark, and inside, the dense wood is burgundy-brown.

The branches are very long and slender and are covered with thick bunches of rough, miniature, fan-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are washed-out red on the edges and brown at the center.

In late summer it forms small, hazel, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
