Copperleaf

This big shrub grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for around 17 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has many narrow, twisting stems covered in smooth, black bark, and the wood inside is mahogany-coloured.

The branches are short, rigid and upright that and are covered with copious amounts of tiny, very narrow and elongated, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in blood red and copper varieties, rigid and leathery.

In mid-summer it produces a handful of small, pink flowers with fan-like petals. They are very delicate and have an intensely strong scent that smells like perfume.
