Blackvine

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 115 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of wide, straight stems covered in rough, black bark, and the wood inside is brown.

The branches are very long and slender that and are covered with thick bunches of miniature, very narrow and elongated, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are black and dull green, frail and covered in fine hairs.

In early spring it produces dozens of medium-sized, peach blossoms with V-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like musk.

In mid-autumn tiny 2 pointed fruits ripen. The hairy caramel skin is thin and inedible, and the crunchy violet flesh is sweet and sticky. The hazel seeds are large and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.
