Emerald Blue

This large flower grows up to 2.4 feet (74 cm) tall. Its emerald stems grow in bunches of 3 and are very thin with a curved tip, and the large, yellow-green leaves are needle-like with rounded edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.

Each stem splits 4 to 8 times; a single giant flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 14 cm (5.5 inches) wide, with petals that are florescent blue in the center, yellow in the middle and black at the edges. The flower head is shaped like a dish made up of handfuls of raised, narrow petals. They fall easily.

It has a soft scent that smells like cigarette smoke, and it has a modest amount of pollen. It is a self-pollinator.
