Crimson Moss

This red moss is commonly found growing in tiny clumps In rainforests, and In heathlands.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they are exceptionally hardy, and is slightly flexible.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release thousands of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
