Wrinklebark Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Sheds its leaves in winter)

This small tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 107 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, wavy trunk covered in paper-thin, wrinkled, dark brown bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pale brown.

The branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with copious amounts of smooth, huge, wide leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either dark grey or beige, with blood red patches.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of small, faded green blossoms with long, tapering petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like vomit.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, caramel, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
