Crimson Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This small leaf succulent grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall. The very narrow, elongated stem is emerald, and is covered in handfuls of rigid olive spines. The stumpy leaves are a shade of dark grey that gradient shifts to blood red at the top. Handfuls of them grow on flat, silver branches that are long and thick. The leaves are tough, and are very difficult to pull away.

It is quick growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with solid blue petals decorated with crimson dots and a deep purple central disk grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 35 curved petals. It has a powerful scent that smells like new books.

The leaf succulent's skin is tough, the bronze flesh is smooth, and the crimson sap is thin and causes vomiting if consumed.

It is suitable for making strong rope
It can survive a long time without water.
The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
