Midnight Bluebell

Flower type: Perennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This giant flower grows up to 15.5 feet (4.7 meters) tall. Its black stem is wispy and splits into 5 branching stems halfway up, and the tiny, black leaves are asymmetrical with wavy edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

A single giant flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 145 cm (57.1 inches) wide, with subtle blue petals that gradient shift to lime on the outer edge. The central disk is yellow. The flower head is largely flat with several tightly layered round-tipped petals. They fall easily.

It has a weak scent that smells like burning wood, and it has very little pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is also visited by a small species of bird.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
