Bronze

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 14 feet (4.3 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 29 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, wavy trunk covered in knobbly, brown-green bark, and inside, the soft wood is pine-coloured.

The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with large amounts of giant, 3 pointed leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either olive or blue, with light brown splotches.

In early spring, it produces clusters of giant, beige blossoms with long, tapering petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have a delicate scent that smells like baby powder.

In late summer it produces very large, S-shaped fruit. The sticky bronze skin is tough and edible when boiled; it is overwhelmingly savoury, and the very soft drab red flesh is bitter and juicy. The green seeds are tiny and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
