Amberberry

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 57 years. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several flexible, curved stems covered in ridged, brown bark, and the wood inside is light brown.

The branches are very long and thin with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of small, thin, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are lime and orange, robust and sticky.

In late summer it produces many bunches of large, amber blossoms with long, narrow petals. They are hardy and have an intensely strong scent that smells like lemon.

In late autumn small S-shaped fruits ripen. The hairy purple skin is delicate and spicy, and the slightly crunchy drab red flesh is sweet and very juicy. The black seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.
