When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a giant, copper tuft.
During the late summer, it produces excessive amounts of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with lots of medium-sized grains.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It can absorb up to 9 times its own weight in water.
